The heart of KIPP Austin Public Schools is its staff—a group of talented, compassionate individuals who embody our organizational values:

Courage, Tenacity, Community, Honor and Quality.

KIPP Austin Public Schools will open ten schools by 2015 to complete our network, serving more than 5,000 low-income students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade.  We need passionate, dedicated educators and professionals who are committed to our students and their educational achievement.

HOW TO LEARN MORE:

In order to determine if KIPP Austin’s values, goals and instructional strategies align with your experiences, skills and qualifications, please take some time to learn about us before completing an application. There are many opportunities to do so:

  • Attend an Open House

POSITIONS AVAILABLE NOW:

Please refer to our list of currently available positions by clicking on “Apply Online Now” at the bottom of this page, and from the next page by clicking “View all available positions.” From there you will be able to view the start date for each position and apply directly to those that meet your job seeking timeline.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR THE 2010-11 ACADEMIC YEAR:

ACADEMIC POSITIONS WITHIN SCHOOLS:

These include founding Kindergarten teachers and Teaching Fellows for KIPP Austin’s first elementary school, KIPP Austin Comunidad, 5th-11th grade teachers for our middle schools and high school (all subjects), as well as leadership positions within schools. Most academic positions require at least 2 years teaching experience achieving significant academic gains with traditionally underachieving students; however, we will consider candidates with 1 year of teaching experience on a case-by-case basis.

For individuals interested in beginning a teaching career with KIPP Austin, please review our Teaching Fellows program. This is an opportunity for non-certified or certified teachers who have not yet been a teacher of record for at least one year.

NON ACADEMIC POSITIONS WITHIN SCHOOLS:

These include business managers, office managers, social workers, counselors and other positions key and vital in supporting our schools, but not serving in an instructional capacity.

SHARED SERVICES TEAM:

Additional academic leadership positions and most non-academic positions serve on the Shared Services Team. These staff members provide academic and operational support to all the schools in the KIPP Austin network, supporting the nuts and bolts of a growing organization while acting as capacity builders, thereby helping to elevate the level of instructional delivery and academic performance for all of our students at each of our schools.

SCHOOL LEADERSHIP:

We encourage applicants interested in a future opportunity as a founding principal of a new KIPP Austin Public School to apply for an academic position with us for this year, including teacher or assistant principal. Please review this brochure for more information on pathways to leadership at KIPP Austin Public Schools, review the qualifications for KIPP Austin principals, and contact Lynnae Hill, Director of Recruitment & Selection, at lhill@kippaustin.org for more information.
