Support KIPP Austin Public Schools
Considering the lack of educational opportunities available to underserved Austin students, KIPP Austin Public Schools has an extraordinary opportunity to impact the number of college-ready minority and low-income students in Austin. KIPP Austin will develop a network of ten academically rigorous, college preparatory elementary, middle and high schools in the East Austin area. When fully completed and enrolled, the KIPP Austin network of schools will include four elementary schools, four middle schools and two high schools with a total enrollment of 5,000 students.
In order to complete this mission and reach more underserved students, KIPP Austin needs your support. One of the easiest ways to get involved is through our KIPP Scholars program.
The KIPP Scholars program is a unique way of giving where we ask members of the community to make a four-year pledge to KIPP Austin, with an annual gift every year for four years. The levels are laid about below:
Valedictorian $2,500 per year for four years = $10,000
Salutatorian $1,000 per year for four years = $4,000
Dean’s List $500 per year for four years = $2,000
Honor Roll $200 per year for four years = $800
Please contact the development office at 512.501.3643 ext. 204 or development@kippaustin.org if you have any questions about making a donation.

KIPP Costs
KIPP Time KIPP Austin students and staff dedicate 67 percent more time to learning than their traditional public school counterparts by attending school from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Saturday School twice a month, and Summer School for three weeks each June. Faculty Excellence In order to attract and retain the very best teachers, we offer higher salaries than traditional schools and provide incentives for performance and commitment. Our teachers also make themselves available by cell phone so students can call for homework help. End-of-Year Field Lessons Each student has the opportunity to earn a special hands-on-learning field lesson that complements the academic program. Favorite trips include a college tour of the Northeast and a camping and hiking trip in Utah’s national parks. Library Opened in August 2006, the library blends tradition and technology with books appropriate for our students' reading levels as well as a computer lab. School-Wide Band All seventh, eighth, and ninth graders are currently enrolled in band class and perform around the city. Health and Fitness for Life Program An exemplary physical education program focused on individual fitness was launched in 2004 and its nutritional component in 2006. The program offers an organic garden and improved food options in our daily breakfast, lunch and snack menus. |
