Apply to Teach at KIPP Austin Collegiate
KIPP Austin Collegiate, a high school, opened its doors to incoming freshman for the 2008-2009 school year this August. The majority of students comprising the inaugural class of freshman have matriculated from KIPP Austin College Prep Middle School. Founding teachers of KIPP Austin Collegiate will play an instrumental role in creating an academically rigorous and dynamic college prep school that meets a variety of needs for high school students.
KIPP Austin Collegiate teachers are primarily responsible for ensuring that every student achieves the academic skills, intellectual habits and character traits necessary to succeed in the nation’s top colleges and universities. Teachers use data to inform their instructional choices and develop structured and dynamic lessons to engage all students; their successes are evidenced by significant academic gains attained by their students, and through students’ exhibiting strong decision-making capabilities, personal responsibility and healthy interpersonal relationships. KIPP Austin Collegiate teachers seek advice from colleagues, principals and staff to continuously hone their teaching skills. In addition, teachers contribute to the overall development of the school by supporting and leading additional activities and clubs.
