KIPP Austin Salary Information
For the 2010-11 new-to-the-district Teachers and Teaching Fellows
- Teachers earn $47,000 to $52,000 depending on education, experience, and areas of certification. - Teaching Fellows earn $35,000 to $40,000 based on job responsibilities only.
KIPP Austin Benefits Program
The following benefits are offered to KIPP Austin Public School’s full-time employees, with the exception of the Employee Referral Program, which is open to select part-time and full-time employees.
Medical, Dental, & Vision Currently, KIPP Austin currently pays 100% of the premium of medical and dental benefits for full-time employees AND their dependents. In addition, we pay 100% of the premium for Vision coverage for full-time employees, while dependents can be added for a small additional cost. Life, Disability, & Accidental Death and Dismemberment KIPP Austin public schools currently pays 100% of the premium for Life, Short/Long-Term Disability & AD&D as well.
Retirement A retirement program is offered through the Teachers Retirement System. For more information please refer to the TRS website at http://www.trs.state.tx.us/ or call their office at 512-542-6400.
401(k) Plans are offered for employees who have been with KIPP for 6 months or longer and subject to the quarterly open enrollment periods, however, KIPP Austin doesn't currently offer matching.
Vacation
KIPP Austin provides 10 days of paid time off for all school staff and those full-time employees on the school schedule, and 12 days of paid time off for our shared services team (operations and academic staff) based on accruals. Additionally, for school staff, KIPP Austin covers a week during Spring Break, 2 weeks during the winter break, 3 days at Thanksgiving, and all national holidays. KIPP Austin covers all national holidays, 2 days at Thanksgiving, 4 days during the winter break and vacation time for all full-time shared services staff.
Maternity Leave KIPP offers maternity leave in certain increments for those employed on a full-time basis. For the first 2 years with KIPP, employees are eligible for 2 weeks of paid maternity leave.
Retention Bonuses/Longevity Pay KIPP Austin also provides retention bonuses for all non-executive, full-time staff members who continue on with us, $500 in the employees first returning year. This bonus is cumulative and caps on the returning 11th year. So an employee who has been with us for 5 years would get an additional $2,500 upon their return the following year.
Annual Performance Bonuses Through our Employee Evaluation process, employees have the opportunity to earn additional performance-based compensation, which varies according to the bonus distribution plan approved by the school and individual performance. Currently the annual performance bonus is contingent on performance in relation to functional goals as well as to specific competencies based on the position.
